Apple crisp recipe
This apple crisp recipe is easy because it does not take very long to prepare, but it does take a while to bake.
I used Fuji apples but you can pretty much use your favorite kind of apples. The ingredients are for a baking tray of 8" x 11.5" x 1.5"(height). If your baking tray is about half as big, then just cut the amount of ingredients in half. Similarly, if your baking tray is twice as big, then double the amount of ingredients.
This recipe is perfect for apple season! Enjoy!

Total time: 1 h
Ingredients (for a baking tray of 8" x 11.5" x 1.5"(height)):
1 or 2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 apples (I used Fuji apples)
1/2 lemon
1 cup butter or margarine
2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/3 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup granulated white sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon baking soda
1/8 cup water
1/4 cup of walnut or pecans (optional)
Method:
Part 1 (10 to 15 min)
Preheat oven to 400°F (1). Dice the apples (2) and place them in baking dish (3). Cut a lemon in half (4) and squeeze some lemon juice all over the baking dish (5) (try to pick out the large lemon seeds with a spoon). Sprinkle some cinnamon over the apples (6).
Part 2 (50 min)
Melt the butter in the microwave for 30 sec (1). Combine flour, sugars, melted butter, baking soda, oats and nuts in a bowl (2) and mix well with a spoon (3) (you might have to add the 1/8 cup of water to help blending). Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the baking dish with the apples (4). Bake for 30 to 40 min until topping is golden brown (5). Take it out of the oven and cool for 15 min (6).
Serve as is or with some ice cream!
