Pumpkin pie recipe
The pumpkin pie recipe is so easy to do and
it's great for guests. After carving the pumpkins for Halloween, my
bf wanted to whip up a
pumpkin pie recipe and it turned out pretty delicious. We went out to
buy pure pumpkin contents from the grocery store and they certainly
look like pumpkin purée.
Yes, we also fell into the trap of thinking
that we can just use contents from our actual pumpkins that we just
carved right [Here]. I guess you
can’t hit two birds with one stone.
Nevertheless, pumpkin in a can is perfectly fine. With brown sugar,
cinnamon, and a bit of nutmeg, it’s a dessert we couldn’t resist. On a
side note, you can use 2/3 cup of brown sugar instead of 1 cup if you
don’t want it to be too sweet but sweet enough. Anyway, Enjoy :)
(PS. To my knowledge, you use sugar/sweet pumpkin if you want to start
from scratch. Also, avoid getting large pumpkins like in the link above
as it is not meant to be bred for pumpkin pies but for carving and

Ingredients (servings: approx. 8)
1 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp (5 mL) ground cinnamon
1/2 tbsp (2 mL) ground nutmeg
3/4 cup (175 mL) evaporated milk
400 ml of 100% pure pumpkin puree (or half of 796ml can)
1 (9-inch/23 cm) unbaked home-made or store-bought pie shell
The pumpkin puree I used.
(1)Beat eggs lightly in medium bowl
optional: whip cream
optional: throw pie in face
Result should be soft but not runny.
(2) Add brown sugar, ground
cinnamon, ground nutmeg, evaporated milk, pure pumpkin puree into same
(3) Whisk until you get a smooth blend
(4) Pour filling in pie shell
(5) Pop the bubbles using chopstick or fork
(6) Bake in the oven for 15 mins at 425ºF (220ºC), then for 30-35 mins
at 350ºF (180ºC). Once done, let it cool.
(You can double the ingredients and use the whole pumpkin puree can
(796ml) as it is
meant for 2 pies.)
It was delicious. I served it to my cousins and some went for seconds
It has a nice texture to it and I absolutely love the golden
fine print: do not throw the pie. only the victim gets to eat it.
